10 More Budget Hidden Gems You Should Be Playing in Commander – 5 Dauntless Dismantler

A card that saw early buzz during The Lost Caverns of Ixalan previews is Dauntless Dismantler, which forces opponents’ artifact cards to enter play tapped. While it’s clear being able to tap down Sol Rings, Mana Crypts, and Arcane Signets as they enter play is decent, you can also tap down those Map, Clue, Blood, Food, and Treasure tokens that also enter play from the opponent. If tapping artifacts isn’t enough, you can also sacrifice Dauntless Dismantler to destroy each artifact with a mana value of X, X being the cost paid when sacrificing the Human Artificer. As a result, this gives you a sure-fire way to answer any opposing artifacts and could be backbreaking if an opponent is playing an Artifact-matters Commander strategy. While not every White Commander deck will want Dauntless Dismantler, it’s certainly better in builds that are more creature-centric and run a lower density of artifacts compared to others.
