A card that has risen in popularity thanks to the Eldrazi Unbound Precon from Commander Masters is Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, a card that has become a desirable card to open from The List. Eldrazi are becoming a popular typal Commander due to Commander Masters, where many players are looking to add the Eldrazi Titan to their upgraded Zhulodok, Void Gorger lists.

Primarily, you see this iteration of Kozilek in Commander as huge payoff for casting cards such as Sol Ring or ramping with Kodama’s Reach in the earlier turns. However, the Legendary Eldrazi does appear in Modern on occasion as a safety-net against Dimir Mill, as Kozilek does force you to shuffle your graveyard (and Kozilek) into your library. Sometimes, Mono-Green Tron adopts the card for this reason, but also the Tron Lands (Urza’s Mine, Urza’s Tower, and Urza’s Power Plant) can help cast Kozilek with little effort if needed. Even with the various printings of Kozilek, Butcher of Truth in Rise of the Eldrazi, Ultimate Masters, and Double Masters, The List printing is one of the more affordable copies at the time of publication.
