What Is Commander – What MTG Cards Are Banned in Commander
December 30, 2024Every Magic: the Gathering set, since the game’s beginning, is legal in the Commander format. This is a large reason this constructed format is so fun and unpredictable. The following cards are banned from legal Commander play:
25 cards with the card type “Conspiracy.”
Nine cards that reference “playing for ante.”
Cards whose art, text, name, or combination thereof that are racially or culturally offensive are banned in all formats.
